Statement Of Intent

How do you intend to use the four areas of the media theoretical framework to communicate meaning and meet the requirements of your chosen brief? (approx. 400 words)

For my magazine, the main target audience is teenagers to young adult males, which fits the given briefing of 16-25 year old's. I have achieved this by using models that are in that demographic. For other forms of representations on the cover, I will be using a white male on one cover, whislt having a mixed race male on the other, using males for both covers fits my target audience. The content of my magazine and the age group was decided due to a small questionaire put towards a focus group, with the questions of "what fashion style would you like to see in a magazine", with responces coming back as casual and urban, but the most popular being smar / smart casual. "How old would you think the models should be on the cover?" was the other question put foward, with a response of 76% saying between 17-21.
The cover of the magazine will have a full shot of the model, with the main focus being on the clothes they are wearing, with the natural lighting clearly showing the colours and the details of the clothing. I am planning to have the backrground of the magazine as a plain wall, and using this to highlight the vibrance and the style of the clothing and the models. The same wall would be used on both front covers to create a familiarity between them as a house style, which would also include the name of the magazine, and sell lines around the models body.
The contents pages will feature the same model from the front cover, in a slightly more casual setting, apposed to the posing in the contents page, e.g. doing up a tie. The camera shot used would be a medium close up to see the models face, and using the natural lighting to get the best angle to highlight the facial features, emphasising the self care aspect of the magazine. The contents themselves will be down the left side of the page, with the text forming around the model.

Website
On my website, it will open up on the gome page, which contains links to various articles on the website. Down the right hand side of it, there will be links to social media and a mailing list the user could apply to.  The top of the blog, under the title, will have the navigation bar, which would help the user around the website, where there is a blog, a gallery to see pictures of the models and the two covers and contetns pages, and a tab to subscirbe to the magazine. The colour scheme of the website will be the same as the magazine, which would matching the colour of the wall the models are against and the text.
The audio visaul aspect of the magaizine would be a short video, showing images of the models with accompanying music, giving a highlight and a preview of the editions of the magazine.

How do you intend to link your media products to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the digitally convergent nature of your media production? (approx. 100 words)

The website and the website I have made will be convergent as the models I have used will appear on both. The colour scheme will be the same and the fonts similar to create a link between them. I will be using a quote about fashion on both the website and the magazine and the brand name "FACE" will be clear on both platforms. The magazine contents page will have a small QR code located in the corner which would allow the audience to easily access the webiste on their phones. The website would also allow the audience to purchase the subscription to the magazine, and the gallery would allow the audience to see other images of the models.
