Research - code and conventions

From the magazines that can be seen in magazine influences, the conventions can be seen replicated among the front covers.

• Masthead - The magazines feature a large masthead, with it being fairly plain and clear
• Title - The titles on the front cover tend to be bold and clearly seen, they feature bright colours and are short, with the main highlighted feature being the term "men" or "fashion"
• Mise en scene - The models displayed in the front covers all use direct mode address, with some models facing the camera, with others having their body at an angle, and turning to face the camera. The models all have emotionless faces, highlighting the focus on either who they are, if they're famous, or the clothing they are wearing. 
• Lighting- The magazines mainly use "key with a close soft box" type of lighting, using it to highlight the facial features of the model, and, when present, the models clothing. The lighting angles changes in some covers, using it to add shadows to the face or body, this adds an element of mystery.
• Headlines- With the headlines that are on the magazine front covers, the headlines surround the model, with the more important headlines being larger, with them sometimes being different colour
