Mock up write up
With the mock up, there are quite a few changes that have been made. Firstly, I changed the colour of the text to make it more aesthetically pleasing, along with matching with the subject of the cover. There are now less headlines on the cover to make more room to see the model. The title "FACE" has been put behind the models head to give a clearer view, whilst leaving the FACE still recognizable. The size of the bar code has changed to make it less eye catching, and the Bauer logo has been made smaller as well. The contents page has been made lighter overall, and the colour of the text changed to match the colour of the models suit, but mostly stayed the same.

Influences
https://www.vogue.co.uk/
I took insperation for my website from vogue, such as the layout of the site. The vogue website is quite minimalist with the main focus being on their articles and their images showing their fashion. Their website has the option to subscribe to their vogue newsletter, which updates them with fashion news. Unlike the vogue magazine, I have used a background on my site, unlike their plain white background
http://www.mensfashionmagazine.com/
I've also taken inspiration for my website from Mes fashion, such as the colour pallet of their website. Their design is quite similar to Vogues website, which I took inspiration from and adapted to my website. Both Vogue and men's fashion have articles that are on their front page to attract the audiences attention, and I have done the same for the same purpse
As you can see from the screenshot, the main page shows a model covered by the information and a link to their articles. You can also see the links to their other subsections of the page on the top of their page, which is similar to the design I have used. Unlike this website however, Mens fashion logo and name is displayed in the top left of their site, where as mine in shown in the top middle of my site with the links being underneath. Similar to the design of Vogues Website.

Magazine Influences
I looked at this magazine front cover when looking for influences and ideas for mine. From this cover, I got the idea of having my model positioned in the middle of the page with the text surrounding them around the sides. This is a common trope in fashion magazines, which makes my magazine fit in with other fashion magazines. However unlike this, this magazine has a white background, whilst my front cover has the background of the location the image is taken, which is a textured wall, which fits with the aesthetic of my website.
This magazines layout is very similar to the layout of Men's fashion, with the model being in the middle and the text surrounding them. With this magazine having the focus of a female model, the tet colour has changed to pink, apposed to the blue colour used for mens fashion

Audience research
With my audience being defined as 16-25 year olds by the brief, further research needs to be done to narrow down the specific theme of the magazine and website. With the concept of the magazine being smart casual, I have asked questions to people with this interest to see what would be expected and wanted to be seen in this magazine. From this, I have seen that people would want to see more about smart casual clothes, specifically the newer seasons, and the colour coordination. They would also like to see items to do with self care and tips for wearing clothes and have an easy way of communicating comments and having discussions with other users.

Research - code and conventions
- Masthead - The magazines feature a large masthead, with it being fairly plain and clear
- Title - The titles on the front cover tend to be bold and clearly seen, they feature bright colours and are short, with the main highlighted feature being the term "men" or "fashion"
- Mise en scene - The models displayed in the front covers all use direct mode address, with some models facing the camera, with others having their body at an angle, and turning to face the camera. The models all have emotionless faces, highlighting the focus on either who they are, if they're famous, or the clothing they are wearing.
- Lighting- The magazines mainly use "key with a close soft box" type of lighting, using it to highlight the facial features of the model, and, when present, the models clothing. The lighting angles changes in some covers, using it to add shadows to the face or body, this adds an element of mystery.
- Headlines- With the headlines that are on the magazine front covers, the headlines surround the model, with the more important headlines being larger, with them sometimes being different colour
